This example is for a person using MDI with twice-daily NPH as basal insulin and premeal rapid insulin. The person is travelling to Finland. The baseline insulin doses are 16 units NPH at 10:00 pm and 6 units at lunch, with rapid insulin before each meal, using carbohydrate counting to calculate doses. All times are approximate.
